Anti-Bullying Week at The BSE, 11th – 14th November, 2019.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to be holding Anti-Bullying Week this week.  This year’s theme is‘Change Starts With Us’.

Small change. Big difference. Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood. By making small, simple changes, we can break this cycle and create a safe environment for everyone. Because together, we can challenge bullying. Change starts with a conversation. It starts with checking in. It starts with work together.

Change starts here.                Change starts now.                Change starts with us.

Please watch the following video for more information on the theme.

Throughout the week the children will be taking part in a variety of activities to raise their awareness of bullying and what they need to do if they have any concerns. Important events to note:

Monday 11th – Anti-Bullying Week Assemblies and New behaviour Policy Launch.

Tuesday 12th – Odd Socks day Children, staff and parents are all expected to wear odd socks for the day. We are wearing odd socks to highlight how everyone is unique and we should respect that.

Thursday 14th – Wear Blue for Anti-Bullying – Schools around the world will be wearing something blue to show our commitment to combating bullying.

This year the goal is to ensure that children and young people, parents and carers know that it takes a collective responsibility to stop bullying.

Have a great week! When we work together we achieve great things, let’s say ‘no’ to bullying.
