Our dedicated team of teachers and staff focuses not only on academic excellence but also on the well-being and pastoral care of each student, ensuring a nurturing environment that fosters growth and confidence. How Parents Can Support Their Child in Key Stage 3

Parents play a vital role in their child’s education. To help your child thrive at Key Stage 3, consider the following:

  • Build a strong partnership: Work closely with teachers and the school to support your child’s learning and development.
  • Stay informed: Regularly discuss your child’s school day with them, focusing on their positive experiences and achievements.
  • Prioritise emotional well-being: Be attentive to your child’s emotional state and offer support as needed.
  • Set high expectations: Encourage your child to strive for excellence in both behaviour and academics.
  • Embrace technology: Help your child become proficient in using digital tools, such as Google Classroom, to enhance their learning

.● Open communication: Maintain open and regular communication between yourself, your child, and their teachers to foster a strong partnership.

Curriculum

Key Stage 3 lays the groundwork for IGCSE studies. Core subjects include English, Mathematics, and Sciences. Students also explore Language Acquisition (French), Humanities, ICT , Art, Physical, SEL ( Social and Emotional Learning) Education, and relevant MOE subjects.

Assessment and Reporting in Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 typically employs a formative and summative assessment approach to monitor student progress. Regular assessments, including tests, projects, and classwork, provide valuable feedback to both students and teachers. Schools often issue progress reports detailing student achievement and areas for improvement. This ongoing assessment process helps identify students’ strengths and weaknesses, guiding their learning path towards Key Stage 4.

In addition to GL assessments, which tests our students cognitive abilities that empower teaching staff and senior leadership with robust data to accurately assess students’ current capabilities and predict their future potential.
